INDIGENOUS

The company’s services are designed to help organisations meet rigorous Australian standards for electrical safety and maintenance compliance, ensuring workplaces remain safe and up to code.

PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTING

One of the core services is Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), where qualified technicians inspect and test electrical appliances that plug into wall sockets or generators under the AS/NZS 3760 safety standard. This includes everyday items like drills, monitors, microwaves, PCs, and larger equipment like vending machines. Each item undergoes thorough testing using specialised devices, with detailed reports and future testing reminders provided to clients to support ongoing compliance.

RCD TESTING

Marindja Facilities Services conducts RCD testing to ensure that safety switches will operate correctly during an electrical fault. RCDs can be fixed in switchboards, built into socket outlets, or used portably, and must be routinely tested as per safety legislation so they will trip quickly and protect users. Technicians perform both simple push-button operation tests and more advanced trip time measurements using precision equipment.

EMERGENCY LIGHTING & EXIT SIGN TESTING

The company also offers testing and inspection of emergency lights and exit signs in accordance with the AS2293.2 standard. These inspections take place at six-monthly intervals, checking lamp function and performing battery discharge tests to ensure that, in a simulated power outage, lights can operate for the required minimum duration. Any defective components are replaced during this service.

SPECIAL PROJECTS

Microwave leakage testing is another specialised service provided, which is separate from standard electrical testing. Conducted under the AS/NZS 60335.2.25 standard, this service involves inspecting the microwave’s physical condition and seals to detect any radiation leakage that could pose a health risk, ensuring the unit operates safely and within regulated radiation limits.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER TESTING & SERVICING

Marindja Facilities Services performs fire extinguisher testing and servicing according to the AS1851 standard, which includes six-monthly safety checks and pressure tests plus required refills at specific intervals. This service ensures portable and wheeled fire extinguishers in facilities are ready to function effectively in an emergency, extending their usable life and safety performance.

THERMAL IMAGING OF DISTRIBUTION  BOARDS

The company uses thermal imaging technology to assess electrical distribution boards, identifying excess heat that indicates issues such as loose connections, undersized cables, or faulty components. Infrared cameras detect heat patterns invisible to the naked eye, allowing technicians to identify potential faults before they lead to power outages or fire hazards.

REPAIRS, MAINTENANCE AND BUILDING UPGRADE PROJECTS

Beyond testing, Marindja Facilities Services offers general repairs and maintenance work, as well as support for building upgrade projects.
